Success with earning your Artifact weaponвЂ™s Challenge Appearance is going to cost - but bragging rights will be yours when you do succeed. If youвЂ™re determined to give it a good run each time the tower is available, you might want to spend some time under the shadow of the Sentinax to gather as many Nethershards as you can. The Mage Tower is active for three days before itвЂ™s destroyed, so time is limited. You can use these Nethershards to purchase additional chances at the encounter. If youвЂ™ve been active within the Broken Shore, youвЂ™ll have started to accumulate Nethershards. If you fail-and thereвЂ™s a good chance you will-the next (and the next) time is going to cost. The first time you get the quest, youвЂ™ll be able to enter the encounter for free. ThereвЂ™s no gear requirement, but youвЂ™re going to want to invest in getting the best gear you possibly can if youвЂ™re going to walk out of the encounter with a brand-new look for your weapon. Each roleвЂ™s challenge will vary slightly whether itвЂ™s healing a group of support npcs, tanking and keeping your group npcs from being killed, or straight dps to kill the boss. There are 7 different challenges available which are tailored to your class role. This encounter will provide players with the opportunity to show their mastery of their class with a solo skill challenge. YouвЂ™ll need to face a powerful foe to earn your new appearance - but itвЂ™s not going to be easy.

This quest is a continuation of your Class Order campaign and will ask you to take care of a little unfinished business via a solo encounter. When the tower is active and youвЂ™ve met all of the requirements, a new quest will become available to you. For those who plan to earn their Challenge Appearance the Mage Tower is going to be an important building to invest your Legionfall War Supplies in.

Returning to the Broken Shore has a lot to offer including new structures that open additional benefits for those adventuring through the island.

You must be level 110, purchase all 35 of the ranks for your Artifact weapon, and complete the questline to unlock access to the four new traits available with patch 7.2. The Mage is a practitioner of magic, the ability to attain objectives or acquire knowledge or wisdom using supernatural means.The Mage will also be shielded by stronger enemies in front, so keep that in mind.Do not underestimate this enemy in Expert Mode, as it will spawn in hordes and heavily boost already fast enemies such as the Ravager Energy, or strong enemies such as the Vengeful.It is also recommended to set the Slingers' targeting to Strong so they can damage the Mage at all times. Several Slingers can do hefty damage to it, if there's enough.However, be aware that other quick enemies like Volt Sentinel and Bolt may get out of your range while your towers are attacking the Mage.You can use the X-3 Buglers ability to target this enemy.The Bugler can be very useful against this enemy.High DPS towers, such as the Vulcan, Sharpshooter, and Sniper are recommended against this.It wields a black staff with an arcane orb being connected to it, which it uses to boost the speed of nearby enemies. It has a black mage hat, black cloak, cape and legs. The mage is a master of the arcane one who will speed up and improve nearby units by the use of it's staff. 'Although various attempts have been made to deconstruct and remake the mage's staff, nothing at this rate can truly mimic it's effects. Some already fast or dangerous enemies like the Equinox and Bolt can be made even faster, making Mage a very threatening enemy. The Mage is a support-type enemy that temporarily enhances the speed of enemies via slamming the ground with its staff causing a ripple effect supporting nearby enemies that were in the vicinity of the mage during impact.
